The Minimalism Challenge – Week 4

Welcome back to the fourth and final week of the minimalism challenge! If you’ve made it this far, congrats! Not going to lie, I’ve totally fallen off the band wagon myself. Between moving, having 3 under 3, travel, and Thanksgiving, I’m just good ole’ fashion behind. I’m excited to get back into our challenge this week and hopefully catch up! (I would recommend starting with Minimalism Challenge Week 1 if you’re new here!) This fourth week is all about the non-material stuff that … Continue Reading »

The Minimalism Challenge – Week 3

Welcome back to the Minimalism challenge week 3! I’ve been so excited to hear from so many of you and see your progress! It’s incredibly humbling to know that you are willing to try this with me. I hope that this has been helpful so far. Week 3 is just as full as week 2. Next week will be a tad easier though, so push through! Check out the Minimalism Challenge Week 1 where you can find all of the minimalism questions again. … Continue Reading »

The Minimalism Challenge – Week 2

Week 1 of the minimalism challenge was just a warm up. We started small, made lots of simple decisions, and built some momentum. This week we’ll really get the ball rolling. (I would recommend going back to week 1 if you haven’t seen it yet before jumping into week 2.) Practically we’ll be doing our bedrooms, phones, and desks. For the mindset portion though, we’ll be digging into the word “need.” What do you need? Define the word. Do you need food to eat? … Continue Reading »

The Minimalism Challenge – Week 1

Minimalism…. ahhhh what a nice word and idea. It’s not so easy though to apply unless you are by nature not attached to material things (so basically it’s difficult for all of us). I’m hoping these next four weeks will be really helpful for you and I as we work towards more intentional living. It’s so hard for me to just jump into this challenge without touching on the deeper issues involved here. There are so many things that can be brought up, … Continue Reading »

Postpartum Must Haves + Beating The Baby Blues

When I typed in the title “Postpartum Must Haves,” it auto corrected to: “Post Party Must Haves.” I laughed. The last thing pregnancy is is a party. And recovery is even further from a party. Not to be discouraging! Having a baby is one of the very best things life has to offer, but recovery can be one of the worst. Haha. When I had Fern I was only 21, but I felt and looked rough after giving birth and continued that way … Continue Reading »

Fall Capsule Wardrobe – 2018

You may have heard me talk about my Summer capsule wardrobe over on Instagram. Or you may have even read the blog post about it. Either way, you’re going to hear a lot more about it, because I absolutely loved my experiment this past Summer. I will NEVER be going back. Taking a step back and an honest look at my 37 piece Summer capsule wardrobe there certainly were pros and cons. Cons of Doing a Capsule Wardrobe You can’t buy cute things when … Continue Reading »

Saying “No” To Mom Guilt + Beluga Baby

“… and take every thought captive to obey Christ …” 2 Corinthians 10:5 I used to think that “taking every thought captive” was just some magical thing that I would do some day when I was like super spiritual. It’s not. It’s basic … like most of the Christian faith. Taking every thought captive simply means that when a thought enters your mind you weigh it against scripture and then decide whether or not to believe and take it to heart. Once we’re saved … Continue Reading »

From 181 to 35 – My Summer Capsule Wardrobe

No need to judge, I’ve got that covered. I do feel like I have to explain myself. Haha. Most of my wardrobe is thrifted, super old, homemade, or a sale find. I don’t think I’ve ever spent more than $40 on an item of clothing (maaaaaaaybe $50 one time?). When I went through my stuff, I didn’t even have anything worth selling. My clothing lives forever because I somehow manage to never spill on myself (or get out the stains from my toddler). … Continue Reading »
